Far, far from Fall River, MA...
...there is a place that is so alluring in it's connection to nature and it's opportunity to learn from mountains and wolves that it inspired six Kuss Middle School students to work hard to experience it.
This place is Mission:Wolf in Westcliffe, CO. After Kent Weber and Tracy Brooks brought their Ambassador Wolf program to Kuss Middle School last October, some eighth grade students approached Mrs. Chapin, their science teacher, with the proposal of putting together a field trip to Mission:Wolf to visit the wolves in their territory. She agreed to support the trip as long as the students took charge of most aspects of planning, including initial meetings, fundraising efforts, travel plans, and presenting the idea to the School Committee for approval. With the addition of Mr. Guile and months of presentations, meetings, phone calls, and planning, 6 Kuss students and 2 teachers were on their way to the Colorado wilderness.

What Can Mission:Wolf Teach Us?
"I think that the world can learn from Mission:Wolf that there's more to life then the materialistic point of views." - Grace Perry
"What I think the world can learn from Mission: Wolf is to "live and let live." They vividly express proper social communication, which is needed to care about yourself and others in a healthy way. Up there, it's all about living your life and staying calm, while here, the emphasized topics revolve around what other people have done. Our society can definitely learn a lot from the wolves. " -Meera Sabeh
"What I think the world can learn from Mission:Wolf is to "create your own adventure" and even Kent said so himself. When you are at the refuge, you are free to do whatever you please. You have to create your own adventure by not expecting what's to come. If you expect the future, you can be greatly disappointed. If you do the exact opposite, you have fun the way you want to and you wouldn't get disappointed by doing the things you want to do." - Meggan DeSousa
